We had our first formal Christmas photos taken this year when we weren't able to get one we liked earlier in the summer. A photographer we've used before does 20 minute sessions around the holidays and we thought we would take our chances. After about 20 minutes my family starts to unravel a bit in front of the camera anyway!
It was snowing in the morning when the kids and I went out to grab mom some coffee and food, and our neighbors surprised us by leaving a toddler sized shovel at our back door. Nathan was so excited to use it, he ran outside and said, "Mama, I'm going to shovel a path for you!" AND THEN HE DID! Ya'll I thought that kind of legit child labor was at least a few years away.
The snow really started to fall while we were on our way to get them taken and we ended up getting a fair amount. Vivian was in rare form and Brian managed to get a few great ones just with his phone. I kind of wish I had been willing to let Viv get a little colder in the snow taking her picture. We had taken off her coat and she came bolting back out.
