Meeting Baby Beckett

We got to meet Baby Beckett in September when Laura and Bill were back from Australia and it was wonderful! He is such a sweet bundle off darling! It was so generous of them to make the trip up to Michigan to say hi. We had perfect weather and it was so wonderful to have so much of the family in one spot. I love looking through these. Dad ended up being the kid whisperer with them all.

Blood Moon

There was a blood moon that I took pretty bad pictures of, but I love the memory of going outside, having the clouds part perfectly and doing my best to take pictures of a very cool thing. I wish I had had a tripod, but this was the best I could do.

Wonderful Weekend at Home

One weekend we actually stayed home and just had fun doing awesome chores like cleaning out the gutters and going for walks. The photos of Vivi and Brian are maybe some of my favorite ever. Coming across these months later is a gift. I may have to have at least one of these framed. Nathan was so thrilled to be pushing Vivian in her stroller and so was she. She even stayed in the stroller most of the way because she was so happy that he was the one pushing her.

Just a couple of the Kellys at the cottage - from Nonnie

Have you been wondering where we've gone? No one is even checking here anymore? I wouldn't blame you!

My computer has been undergoing some intense maintenance, and my in-house IT specialist, unfortunately for my computer, also has a full-time job. As a result, I haven't been uploading pictures and there have been no posts. I'm sorry everyone! My wonderful mother was good enough to upload hers from our 2 WEEKS at the cottage in July/August. They were FABULOUS. I can't delete any of them. Sorry, not sorry.

We had a rocky start but by week 2, we were all having a much easier time of it and Nathan and I were no longer sick.

(Need to insert our adventure getting up there here)

Selfishly, I love how many of these pictures I'm in! Also, the ones where we are all dressed up were an attempt at a Christmas card photo, that's certainly not our regular cottage attire.

There were huge dock spiders, lots of boat rides, wonderful weather and warm water, and lots of good cuddle time. Vivian was in a bit of weird spot with sleeping for the first time since we sleep trained at 6 months, and the thin cottage walls were not the best place to address that, so while sleep was a bit tricky, we certainly had no trouble wearing the kids out.

Both kids loved boat rides, kayaking, and generally being down by the water. Nathan loved fishing with the nets and even caught a little fish with his Snoopy pole. It wasn't a keeper, but it made an impression. S'mores were a hit, and Vivian's curls keep getting curlier. They are longer now, of course, but I still love seeing these.

I can't wait to go through my back log and post with the ones from my camera too. The onslaught will be substantial. I wish I were writing this post closer to when we went so that I could hold on to more of the specifics, but let's just say, it was lovely.
