We thought we would be "smart" and split the driving up into two days. We left Friday after Brian got home from work, and let's just say that there were multiple times that night that we both thought this was a terrible idea. Nathan was having a hard time sleeping in the car and we were stopping what felt like every hour because he was unconsolable in his carseat. We finally stopped in London, Ontario just before midnight and had only done about 3 hours of the drive. The next morning was much better and he was having an easier time sleeping in the car. In retrospect, I think Nathan kept getting hit in the eyes by random car lights. I would have a hard time sleeping through that too.
Mom and Dad were heading out on Saturday but waited for us to get there and helped us load up the boat. It was SUCH a help. I wish we had gotten to hang out with them longer.
We avoided some serious heat in Ann Arbor, but it was still in the 80s when we got there. Nathan spent quite a lot of time in just his diaper the first half of the week and seemed to love it up there! He even slept 10+ hours one night. We didn't want to come home. Liz and John are up there now, enjoying the beauty and calm that is Georgian Bay. Here are some of my favorite photos of the trip. I really tried to cull, but it's too hard!

I solemnly swear he was in the shade for these photos!
Thank you again for the blanket, Aunt Mary! It was pretty much the only way he was willing to do this.
