We celebrated Leah's 4th birthday on Sunday at Sagano, a super fun hibachi restaurant in Brighton. For those who are unfamiliar with my hometown, there is a "mill pond" right downtown that has a play area for kids and lots of ducks, swans, and geese. We thought it would be fun to get there a little before the reservation to play with Nathan since he pretty much wants to hug every living creature these days. I had a great time waddling around myself taking pictures of my boys. We didn't even end up going to the playground (which was PACKED) since just walking on the bridge and around the water was so entertaining. The only slightly unnerving part was that there is no fence around the water and Nathan just kept running up to the edge calling out, "hold" or "hug" about the water fowl. Brian did a great job of trying to keep him from going headlong into the water with enthusiasm.
I did a terrible job of documenting the birthday party itself. I would like to blame the terrible lighting and the fact that I didn't really figure out that I should be using my flash much sooner. Nathan did great with all the loud noises and LOVED the flames. He apparently really likes shrimp and Brian and I both caught food thrown at us in our mouths on the first try. Happiest of birthdays to Leah who is sure to be awesome at being 4!
I don't have any photos, I think Liz got one, but when I asked Leah for a birthday hug she got an impish look on her face and said, "I'd rather sit on the baby!" I of course complied and while she was sitting on my rotund belly she proclaimed, "I think she likes it!" I think so too because it meant her mom got a great hug out of the deal.
