Nanny down!

I heard from Mom today and she begged for a post. I'm a sucker for people who love my baby.

We got a call Wednesday morning from Cathy saying that she was coming down with some kind of stomach bug. Trooper that she is she said it was up to us if we wanted her to come. It turns out that she's had the flu. Obviously, we told her to stay home and feel better. This was the first time we'd been in this position since starting the nanny share, so this is a trial run for us! Usually I would beg help from my parents, but they are still off galavanting in Rome, so we were on our own(ish).

On Wednesday Brian stayed home with us and did daddy duty while I worked. Gratefully, Nathan gave us some long easy naps which meant we were able to get a lot of work done given the fact that we were taking care of him.

On Thursday, I took Nathan to Liz's house and she did some heavy lifting while I got work done. It was really wonderful to see the Wyderkos though, it had been far too long!  I love those people more than I can say! Somehow I managed not to get any pictures of Zach. In my defense I know I took ones of him with Liz's camera.

Liz also got a request from Mom for a Halloween post. She was taking some precious napping time to fulfill the request and made a comment about her readership, namely that Mom and I are the only people who read it. I firmly believed this not to be the case so we pulled up her site tracking stats. Blogger doesn't go very deep with their analysis, but it shows the number of page views on any given day. It also breaks it down by how many people click on a particular post title to read it. She had been looking at that number (not page views), which really does make it look like only 2 or 3 people ever read your blog. It should be noted that at every family gathering we all gush over how much we read the thing, so the fact that she thought we were all just FLAT OUT LYING FOR YEARS had me laughing hysterically. Sorry Liz, I totally just blew you up, but it has been tickling me for the last 24 hours.

Leah was very intent on the difference in size between her and Nathan. Hands, feet, height, etc. She was very frustrated with Nathan for not leaving his feet still enough to compare them. What an uncooperative baby.

Today I stayed home and actually managed to get quite a lot of work done considering. Nathan was an extra good napper, and he's really been loving the jumper lately so he was able to entertain himself while I largely neglected him. Let's just say this week has made me appreciate Cathy even more than before. We are hoping she's over the flu on Monday for all our sakes.

Nathan doesn't seem to have suffered from the neglect.
